Exactly.
But I got used to AA so much, that can't imagine myself using some application
& fonts without AA.
I still from time to time reboot to Windows, and it's default TT renderer is
so ugly that I try to shutdown computer and load Linux ASAP.
BTW: as some fonts are rendered ok with AA enabled, I guess we should just
switch to those fonts until *bad fonts* are fixed.
Or FT added extra clue how to render those *bad* fonts with AA.
