Install on DG/UX

I am having no luck installing FreeType on a DG/UX system. The system is
i586-dg-dguxR4.20MU04 and it is failing miserably. The configure seems fine
but the make has the following errors:

Please help! I have tried this on two different DG/UX boxes of the same
revision and I get the same results.
