Details:

The samples/kremerGrest.tcl script no longer works, since it uses deprecated
statistics functions. It also uses outdated checkpointing. As this was for a
long time one of the standard integrity tests, we might want to get this one
running again.

What to do:
- use the modern statistics (correlator?) to get the statistics part working
again
- use direct writing of blockfiles to read and write checkpoints. Should be a
good example of how NOT to blindly output everything, but just the right
information to restart the script.
