I agree with this point.

However, I have another point, in the same area but different:
accessing local resources should not go through running a local
internet server by default.  Here are reasons:

* It is a kludge.

* Accessing a local resource through a generic interface will often
limit what can be done with it.

* Having an internet server running will make people have to worry,
"Can anyone else get at this server?"  Even if the answer is "No,
that is blocked by some of the settings," it is still a worry.
