I'm not a UI designer but my observation is that especially when these
are made to help new starters they try to give only the least (but very
important) possible information.
If giving the user the least possible information, how can one hope
that they will learn anything? That seems quite backwards.
I think stuffing alot of information in the spash screen makes it less
effective, but I have no proof of that :)
But nobody was suggesting that...
