I personally do not like the idea of having the program information ("GNU Emacs at ...") disappear when a second frame is opened, and reappear when the next to last frame is closed. I see no reason to do this.
The new "%B" specifier, added by me here, is equivalent to: (if buffer-file-name (abbreviate-file-name buffer-file-name) buffer-name))
You probably meant: (if buffer-file-name (abbreviate-file-name buffer-file-name) (buffer-name)))
