I'm thinking of using Dazuko with a next-generation GNU/Linux
distribution. This distribution will use Dazuko to facilitate
functionality similar to the Zero Installer[1], but broadened and refined.

I may need to have the ability to delay an execve() until replacing the
binary being executed; or I may wish to trap access to non-existant
files, particularly header files, so that they may be installed on demand.

When space becomes tight, I can automatically compress and potentially
remove infrequently used libraries and executables (replacing
executables with a zero length executable file to preserve tab
completion et al) to allow more software to be installed than is
actually used.

In practice, as space became tighter the data would be compressed in
place, then shipped offsite (i.e. remote NFS or another partition, or
REMOVED), then restored when needed (decompressed or copied over). If
it was removed, it can be redownloaded from the distribution site, of
course with SHA1 checks and GPG signing.
