Hi Thomas,

this effect you are reporting is a USB hub problem of your computer. I have the same problem with a raspberry 4 were the raspberry 3 was working without any problem.

If you connect the MC3000 with your computer it must detect the USB HID device with product ID 1 and vendor ID 0. You may check this with Windows device-manager. This are the identifiers DataExplorer is looking for to communicate with MC3000. All SkyRC devices has identical identifiers which means you can not connect two SkyRC devices in parallel. Due to identical identifiers DataExplorer can not distinguish between different devices. Due to the not registered USB IDs of SkyRC devices it is possible that USB hubs does not detect such devices since IDs are invalid.

My workaround to this problem is to just connect an external USB hub and connect SkyRC device using this external hub. This is working in most cases.

I do not know what kind of computer you are using, but rear ports are almost native ports to enable booting with a USB connected storage for maintenance cases. So this ports must have different connection to the hardware (hub) than other USB side ports. Anyhow, if operating system (OS = Windows) has been started it controls all internal USB hubs using device driver and therefor the behave may change, for example by an OS update.

Summarizing, it may be an USB hub problem where the hub firmware does not detect USB HID device or it may be an device driver problem which does not accept invalid USB HID identifiers.

with kind regards, Winfried

I was Enjoying Data Explorer Version 3.5.5 so much after I finally got it working by switching from front usb port to rear usb port, but then it suddenly stopped working again. If you are able to assist it would be much appreciated. Thank you.

This didn't work, but then I changed the USB port from a front port on my computer to a rear port and it worked for two days. Has stopped working since. Any help would be appreciated. I love the software, thank you to the dev.
