Ah, thanks. I confess, I didn't even read the description of the crypt
egg -- I just assumed it was a wrapper for the Unix crypt(3) function
and skipped over it.
I agree that an OpenSSL egg would be great to have. It's beyond my
available time to try, so I wish you luck, and hope to share in your
success! :-)
In the meantime, I'm using pipes and curl(1), which will get the job
done today. But I'll definitely look at the crypt egg.
