[Chicken-hackers] [PATCH] Make maximal-string-length architecture dependent

Hi,

the patch below uses C_HEADER_SIZE_MASK for the library's string
limit. This should increase buffers for certain operations on 64bit
systems where it was arbitrarily tied to 16MB.

As I don't have access to a 64bit system may I offload this task
to the inclined 64bit enabled reader?
