Might have to do this for each platform. There are lots of different tests for 
lots of platforms in the configure.ac script. Not sure if xboard still compiles 
on all these platforms anyway, so in my view the only way we can do this, is 
just to wait until someone complains and then fix it for that platform. Seems 
like we have it running on linux at the moment ;) and will get it running on OS 
X too (since we have a tester for that platform).
