I took a look at your repo and found that our definition of ghc-gi-gdk is
almost exactly the same (sans some historical differences (eg, using gtk (v4)
vs gtk+)).

Interesting! Sadly I rediscovered this and provided a very similar solution in
the first message of this bug report (with the help of a similar issue in nix).
imho we should adjust the goject-introspection package to include working cairo
typelib files.

I'll take a closer look this evening whether or not there is some other
difference that could be causing the reported build failure.

I don't foresee any issues with understanding whats going on (similarly, famous
