Thank you for your email.  I have checked that there are no \r's in
the configure file in the gsl-1.12 tar file that we distribute from
ftp.gnu.org.  If you got the tar file from somewhere else (Cygwin?)
please can you report the problem to them.  Otherwise please send
details of the exact lines to address@hidden
