Bug #62344 proposes to reduce the number of places the code defines paper
sizes. The bug you're reading now proposes to add some new paper sizes. This
will be simpler if 62344's proposal is implemented, but it's not complicated
even now.
----
The email-list message linked in that bug points to a web page
(http://www.prepressure.com/library/paper-size) that lists numerous known
paper sizes, many of which groff already knows about, but some of which it
doesn't. Groff's palette of known paper sizes could be expanded to include
the missing ones from this list.
grops and gropdf, with their -p options, already allow the user to specify any
arbitrary paper size, so this feature offers no new functionality, merely a
convenience to a few edge-case users. So it's low priority, but also low
effort, if a new contributor is looking to get their groff feet wet.
