constant width output

I am trying to print constant width characters for
the following file:

.DS L
August 2001
Su Mo Tu We Th Fr Sa
1 2 3 4
5 6 7 8 9 10 11
12 13 14 15 16 17 18
19 20 21 22 23 24 25
26 27 28 29 30 31
.DE
----
since '.CW' is not recognized under groff,
I saw a reference to .B being like .CW. Although
groff recognizes .B, I still do not get constant
width character output.
The script I use to print the
file is:

groff -e -t -rd$dte -rt$ctme -Tps -F/usr/lib/groff/font -rL10.5i -mm
$1.$is|col -b|lpr -Pscilab-b133
---
Is there a control character/sequence in groff that I can use
to effect constant width characters on ougput (in this case, I believe it
is postscript format).
