It works for me. Trough about:config I have created the new boolean
key "browser.urlbar.trimURLs" then set it to false. Have you tried it?

No, it is not normal. It is a bug, thank to have reported it.
Since Mozilla folks have decided to bump the major number so often, I
think it is time for a drastic solution. This patch should fix the
problem for a while:
