I should point out that GNUbg can't get a gammon. You already have one
man taken off. As long as you have one off you can't be gammoned or
backgammoned even if there is still a chequer outside your home. If you
had not taken any men off already then you would be correct.

"A completed game of backgammon in which the losing player has not borne
off any checkers. A gammon is also called a double game because the
winner receives twice the value of the doubling cube. Compare: Single
Game and Backgammon (2)."
Note the "losing player" and "NOT borne off any checkers".
