I was ambiguous, I meant the latest development builds, not the official
release. Developers work on versions more up to date than what is made
available for download. When the time is right the changes that
developers are making make their way into official releases. So you must
wait until we officially roll out the next releasr (hopefully by Sunday)

Because I must have been half awake. I meant to have you turn on View
Menu/Panels>/"COMMAND". I was in error telling you "Messages". That
should give you the prompt in the bottom right where you can type:

Save Settings      (and then hit Enter)

As for automatically saving the window position, and the panes when
GNUBG is closed - that won't be going in the next release. There are
some issues (questions) that I have for some of the other developers
before I make the change. However, if you use the work around above
(With the Command pane) before you exit GNUBG you can issue "Save
settings", and it will save all the Pane Settings and sizes.
