Hi,

I would like to build some positions databases, and contribute them, preferably in a way that makes them usable to most people (i.e. readable in most backgammon softwares).

Key issues being:
- collect more than one "problem" in a single file
- allow comments for e.g. references to books or expert advice
- allow alternate moves i.e. a tree of moves

Can anyone knowledgeable give advice about the way to go, if it makes sense at all.

Because to me, right now it doesn't. After looking around a little (OK i did not spend more than 2 hours googling) it looks like the only way to do this is use BGblitz, but then you're locked into BGblitz and nothing else. Plus all the other softwares don't seem to understand positions databases (only single Jellyfish positions in POS files maybe).

Any hint / overview of the current status / hope about the coming software developments ?

Many thanks in advance
Pierre
