"gnubg accepts and wins a single game."
I have tried it with an installation here at work, and even with deleted
(renamed) .gnubgautorc, gnubg accepts.

Have you anything specific on mind that could be tested? The only thing I tried
is:
(user) show player
Player 0:
Name: gnubg
Type: gnubg:
Checker play:
Neural net evaluation:
0-ply evaluation.
Using pruning neural nets. Cubeful evaluations.
Noiseless evaluations (deterministic noise).
Move filters:
Move filter for 1 ply:
keep the first 8 0-ply moves
Move filter for 2 ply:
keep the first 2 0-ply moves and up to 3 more moves within equity 0.1
keep the first 0 1-ply moves
Move filter for 3 ply:
keep the first 16 0-ply moves
keep the first 4 1-ply moves
keep the first 0 2-ply moves
Move filter for 4 ply:
keep the first 8 0-ply moves
keep the first 0 1-ply moves
keep the first 2 2-ply moves and up to 3 more moves within equity 0.1
keep the first 0 3-ply moves
Cube decisions:
Neural net evaluation:
0-ply evaluation.
Using pruning neural nets. Cubeful evaluations.
Noiseless evaluations (deterministic noise).
and it seems quite fine to me. Evaluation seems to work fine, too:
(user) eval
Position ID: AQAA3O8IQgAAAA
Match ID: Uom1AAAACAAA
Evaluator: RACE
Win W(g) W(bg) L(g) L(bg) MWC Cubeful
static: 0.000 0.000 0.000 0.966 0.000 0.62% 0.62%
And evaluation seems to use identical settings as the gnubg player.
