I will bet on Timok too. Timok was popular font in Bulgaria at this time.
I think that you issue is with this old microsoft program that does not
support cyrillic. The work arount in the past was to use fonts that
instead extended latin display cyrillic characters. May you could pass
text from document into a text file a to handle it as cp1251 codeset.
