Solaris does not ship with a libiconv. If you have one on your system it is a 3rd party library. You can check with file <library> if it is a 32 or 64 bit library. Usually 64 bit libraries are located in .../lib/<64-bit-isa> and are accessible by a symlink .../lib/64
It is a bit hard to diagnose if you don't give at least the compiler you are using, the compile options and the error message, but most certainly you missed to specify the correct library search path with -L.
