A similar bug has been reported before. In that case the bug resulted
because the author wanted to split a window with a header line and give
the new window a height of two. Can you please tell me whether the
window you want to split has a header line.

Again the same question. Does the window of the LaTeX buffer have a
header line?

Sorry, I don't know elscreen. What is an `elscreen-toggle-display-tab'?
Is it displayed in the first line of a window?
