This is because when you run from a ZIPped file,
the home directory does not point at the ZIPped file.

You need to UNZIP the file to disk, make sure
the gnuchess.lang file is in the connected
directory where the gnuchess.exe is, connect
into that directory and run it.

But more to the point, why are you using the
old GNU Chess 4? You should be using GNU Chess 5.
Please obtain from:

   http://www.gnu.org/software/chess/chess.html
