Thanks for the report.

The term FTBFS is exaggerated for this situation. The tarball from
ftp.gnu.org still builds fine. It's only that it either may fail
to produce a libintl.jar (which is a regression compared to previous
builds with older Java versions and may require a tweak in the .spec
file), or that the tests 'msgunfmt-java-1' and 'lang-java' fail.

The patch set that I provided for bug 892733 is better than this one:
your patch withdraws support for all GCJ versions. Whereas
my patch withdraws support for GCJ versions up to 4.2, but keeps support
for GCJ versions 4.3 .. 6.

And it adds support for Java 10, which was released on 2018-03-20.
