Thanks for that. I managed to get rubber to work. I had to type C-c C-c Rubber
though -- I couldn't get it to work by default. Then I found this:

And I followed the instructions at the end by Tiago Camargo, and they worked. I
am a little concerned however with the lack of error messages, but I suppose I
can always check them with C-c C-c latex and then C-c ` as I usually do.
