[Xlog-discussion] install problems

building Xlog on gentoo.  ./configure complains about missing hamlib. 
(used hamlib 1.2) yet the files are all there in /usr/local/lib/. 
ld.so.conf has /usr/local/lib already in the list of paths.  Compile and 
link goes OK but running complaints about being unable to open 
libhamlib-1.2.0.so.2

I will look closer when I get back from k1usn duty this afternoon.  If
