Oh yeah, don't forget to run, um, /sbin/ldconfig as root user after making the 
symlink.

I also checked and the "96" version of expat uses 0.4.0 as the actual shared 
lib you will be symlinking "to". I dunno if this will work as advertised, but 
it is worth a shot I suspect.
