+<h3>Ubicación</h3>
+
+<p>El Centro está ubicado en el área de Sudharshan de la calle Bannerghatta
en
+Bangalore,<a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Karnataka#Education";>Estado
+de Karnataka</a>, India.</p>
+
+<h3>Referencias</h3>
+
+<p>El <a
+href="http://slumdweller.wikispaces.com/Community+Computing+Center";>Centro
+de Computación Comunitario de Ambedkar</a> no es una institución educativa
+pública o privada, sino un centro educativo de informática gestionado por
+jóvenes de un grupo local llamado «Ambedkar Sanga» que trabaja en los
+barrios marginados de la zona.</p>
+
+<p>El Centro fue fundado en 2007 como una manera de acercar el mundo de las
+computadoras a los niños y jóvenes desfavorecidos que de otra forma tendrÃan
+pocas oportunidades de entrar en contacto con esta tecnologÃa.</p>
+
+<p>El grupo está formado por alrededor de 15 niños y jóvenes de ambos sexos
+entre los 13 y 23 años de edad. Asisten a clases tres veces por semana en
+sesiones de dos horas cada una.</p>
+
+<h3>Motivos</h3>
+
+<p>El área en la que está ubicado este Centro carece de las condiciones de
+vida más básicas. Creemos que los jóvenes de este lugar deben desarrollar la
+sed de libertad mientras aprenden computación, y el software libre sirve
+para este propósito. El software libre es una manera de hablar de
Libertad.</p>

+<h3>Cómo lo hicimos</h3>

+<p>No ha habido ningún proceso de migración. Abogamos por el software libre,
de
+manera que empezamos por instalar directamente software libre en todos los
+ordenadores en uso; por tanto, no nos hemos enfrentado a dificultades
+particulares al configurar los sistemas. Nuestro problema principal es la
+falta de hardware. Utilizamos únicamente ordenadores portátiles y
+necesitamos tantos como podamos conseguir. Dependemos de donaciones para
+nuestro trabajo.</p>
+
+<h3>Compromiso con el software libre</h3>
+
+<p>Contamos con cinco estaciones de trabajo, todas con ordenadores portátiles
+que funcionan con sistemas operativos completamente libres.</p>
+
+<p>Todos los programas que utilizamos son software libre. Por ejemplo,
+utilizamos <a href="http://www.libreoffice.org/";>LibreOffice</a> para las
+hojas de cálculo y para escribir textos, y <a
+href="http://directory.fsf.org/wiki/GIMP";>GIMP</a> para los gráficos.</p>
+
+<h3>Resultados</h3>
+
+<p>Navegar en la red utilizando software libre ayuda a estos jóvenes a tener
+acceso al mundo exterior con seguridad y confianza. Los programas libres
+para gráficos tales como GIMP les permiten expresar su creatividad de manera
+libre y fácil.</p>
+
+<p><a href="/education/edu-software-gimp.html#Mani">Uno de los jóvenes
+desfavorecidos</a> que asiste a clases en el Centro ha logrado un alto nivel
+de competencia en el uso de GIMP. Sus trabajos han sido presentados y
+vendidos en una conferencia local de software libre. La foto que aparece a
+la derecha lo muestra entregándole a Richard Stallman una copia de un ensayo
+titulado «El futuro es nuestro», que fue elaborado en el Centro.</p>

+<p>Algunos de los jóvenes que asisten a nuestras clases también toman cursos
de
+computación en la escuela. Nos informan que las habilidades que aprenden en
+el Centro son de inestimable ayuda para seguir esos cursos y superarlos con
+éxito.</p>

+<p>The following information was submitted to us by the group of volunteers
+working at the Center.</p>
+

+<h3>Location</h3>
+
+<p>The Center is located in the Sudharshan Layout off Bannerghatta Road
+in Bangalore, <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Karnataka#Education";>
+State of Karnataka</a>, India.</p>
+
+<h3>About</h3>
+
+<p>The <a href="http://slumdweller.wikispaces.com/Community+Computing+Center";>
+Ambedkar Community Computing Center</a> is not a private or public
+educational institution, it is a computing education center run by
+youths from a local group called Ambedkar Sanga that works in the slums
+of the area.</p>
+
+<p>The Center was founded in 2007 in an effort to bring the world of
+computers close to underprivileged children and youths who otherwise
+would have little opportunity to get in contact with this technology.</p>
+
+<p>The group consists of around 15 children and young boys and girls
+from 13 to 23 years old. They attend classes 3 times a week for 2 hours
+each session.</p>
+
+<h3>Motivation</h3>
+
+<p>The area in which this Center is located lacks even the most basic
+living conditions. We feel that the kids from this place should get a
+good thirst for Freedom while learning computing too, and Free Software
+serves this purpose. Free Software is a way to talk about Freedom.</p>
+
+<h3>How We Did It</h3>
+

+<p>No migration process was involved. We are Free Software advocates so
+we started directly by installing Free Software in all computers in use;
+therefore, we haven't faced any particular difficulties in setting up
+the systems. Our main difficulty regards the lack of hardware. We use
+only laptops, and we need as many as we can get. We rely on donations
+for our work.</p>
+
+<h3>Commitment to Free Software</h3>
+
+<p>We have five work stations, all of which are laptops and all of them
+run fully free operating systems.</p>
+
+<p>All of the programs we use are Free Libre software. For example, we
+use <a href="http://www.libreoffice.org/";>LibreOffice</a> for
+spreadsheets and for general document writing, and
+<a href="http://directory.fsf.org/wiki/GIMP";>GIMP</a> for graphics.</p>
+
+<h3>Results</h3>
+
+<p>Browsing the web using Free Software helps these young boys and girls
+to have access to the external world in safety and confidence. Free
+Libre graphic programs such as GIMP allow them to express their
+creativity freely and easily.</p>
+
+<p><a href="/education/edu-software-gimp.html#Mani">One of the
+underprivileged kids</a> who attends classes at the Center has achieved
+a high level of skill in the use of GIMP. His works have been presented
+and sold at a local Free Software conference. The picture on the right
+shows him handing in to Richard Stallman a copy of an essay titled
+“The Future is Ours”, which was produced at the Center.</p>
+
+<p>Some of the kids who attend our classes also take computing courses
+at school. They report that the skills they learn at the Center are of
+invaluable help for them to follow and pass those courses
+successfully.</p>
