Details:

-have a grid of 3x3 buffers
-resize the window until you see weird characters in the corners

I guess it can work with a 2x2 grid also, but I haven't tried it.
I expect +-like characters to be there instead, and it's the default
behavior.

The attached screenshot explains the problem better than any piece of text
could.
