Follow-up Comment #1:
It can already be done by adding a rmodifier like this one:
/rmodifier add server history_add,input_text_display 1,4*,5
^(/(server|connect) .*-(sasl_)?password=)(\S+)(.*)
I added this one in default rmodifiers.
Note: due to limitation of rmodifiers, this rmodifier will replace only one
password in command line (if you give many passwords, only the latest will be
hidden).
