Follow-up Comment #2, bug #24760 (project weechat):

Also I need to clarify that irssi and ircII works fine showing swedish
characters åäö as they should, both in xterm and urxvt and linux console. 

And also weechat 0.2.6 works fine with swedish characters, so I don't think
it is something outside weechat not working. I think it is something in
weechat 0.2.7 that does not work or is not configured correctly.
