If you allow me for a comment, *mdiff* was an experimental program, that
was distributed in pretest versions of Wdiff. It was really useful to
me when I needed it, but it has limitations, like I vaguely remember
that in some cases, it may take more CPU that I would have wanted.
One year ago, I needed *mdiff* for a particular application, took a
quick dive into the program, and decided to rewrite a specialized
version of it in Python instead. It was more efficient for me than to
resume *mdiff* work and develop in C, which is admittedly slower.
Unless the actual maintainers really want to push on *mdiff*, or users
really want to pull for it, we could drop the experiment, in my opinion.
