Hmm. Can we start from the very beginning? What happens, if you shorten
your init.el to the 4 lines you have shown, and you start like

--8<---------------cut here---------------start------------->8---
emacs -Q -l init.el
--8<---------------cut here---------------end--------------->8---

(Adapt the path of your init file)

Do you have installed older Emacsen? If yes, does it work with them?
