This looks like an issue with the remote prompt. Pls set tramp-verbose
to 10, and rerun the test, starting with "emacvs -Q". After the error,
pls send the *complete* debug buffer, preferred as attachment.

I have no idea what's up with the connection buffer. But a debug buffer,
produced with tramp-verbose set to 10, will tell us everything.
