Hmm, doesn't look like tramp-verbose 6 ...
Anyway, the error happens in tramp-compute-multi-hops. Reading the code,
it looks like Tramp is assuming there's a multi-hop. Did you call "emacs
-Q -l tramp", as proposed?
Otherwise, you need to debug that function.
