What group is your /var/mail directory assigned as? Make it assigned
group "mail" or whatever is valid, chmod g+w it, and set tpop3d to run under
that group. That's how I got past a similar error.
tpop3d List:
I installed, and configured tpop3d
correctly. And read the README and INSTALL files. However, when I
use it, its unable to access the mail files. In debug mode I get the
following:

mailspool_new_from_file: failed to lock
/var/mail/dave: Permission denied
dotfile_unlock(/var/mail/test): open: No
such file or directory
authcontext_delete: finished session for `test' with
pam
Now I tried enabling the other ways it tries
locking the file I get the same message everytime.
Anyone else encountered this and/or knows how to
correct it? All assistance is highly appreaciated.
