In the rules file there is CABRILLO=ARRL-SS and in logcfg.date there is
CABRILLO-TEMPLATE=SS_template.cbr and the template file has nothing out
of the ordinary.

Yes, it mostly went through everything until I added the template file
and the setting for its name in logcfg.dat.
