Please don't forget the licence problem. I don't have the time to
check now but there is an issue about linking GPL programs (as
TeXmacs) to non-GPL programs (as rscheme).

Another point is portability. Currently, rscheme only compiles on
i386, ppc, m68k, alpha and s390. Rscheme contains some very machine
dependent code for memory managment.
