Thanks for sharing. Interesting to see this in the „Berliner Zeitung“. 
The author missed two important points:

1, Neither paypal nor the „new payment system“ he suggests allow 
anonymous payment. He does not even mention this relevant aspect of cash 
— which is quite some framing.

2. There wais an initiative for such a European Payment System. 
According to some article in c't magazine this attempt seems to be 
failing since quite some members left.
