Hi!
I just joined this list to ask a few questions :-)
I'm using Synaptic for almost a year now and I've been pretty satisfied
with it, but the new release seems to be a step back in certain areas.
The GUI looks better now, but for example I can't find a way to browse
the sections filled with not installed software.
I can only view all software in sections or all not installed software
in alpha order.
Another Point is the description of the packages. Now there is just the
description and you have to click on properties to be able to read the
rest (installed files, dependencies,...)
I found it very usefull especially in sid where broken dependencies are
more or less "intended" and occur very often.
Maybe there are good reasons for these design decisions and I just don't
know them (I don't have time to read the whole ML-archive now) ;-)
I'm just curious.
