Thank you for the tip, the same day I posted my question I discovered on
my own that .sprite was the mean to group objects.

If .sprite already does the job I see no reason to clutter SWFC with a
duplicate command such as "group". Until recently I've had virtually no
animation experience, only vector graphics where one gets used to object
grouping, so the "sprite" command was not immediately obvious to me.
