On an X86_64 Fedora system, I just built RPMS for swarm-2.4.1
http://pj.freefaculty.org/Swarm/Swarm-Packages/Fedora/14/x86_64/
Please be advised of this problem that I have not seen before:
Run a swarm app like schellingII:
error while loading shared libraries: libswarm.so.2: cannot enable
executable stack as shared object requires: Permission denied.
The SELinux page says lots of bad stuff about executable stacks.
But there's no way I'm going to understand all that computer-guy-talk
in the short run, so I just disabled it.
$ sudo setsebool -P allow_execstack on
After that, the Swarm programs do run.
I know, that's bad/insecure/shameful. But I swear to god, that SELinux
system is tough to deal with.
I hope one of you knows of a fix for this trouble with the executable stack.
We are at odds with the NSA, you know :)
