You did not tell us what steps you took to arrive at that. It could
simply be your configure line is wrong. But my best guess says: Check
which libtool, automake, and autoconf you have installed
I have:
address@hidden pauljohn]$ rpm -q libtool
libtool-1.5-8
address@hidden pauljohn]$ rpm -q autoconf
autoconf-2.57-3
I have several automakes instlled in the redhat style, but the version
you need to match up against is 1.6.3.
It shows here as
automake16-1.6.3-1
Make sure you have gcc-3.3.2
