Greetings to the hive,
I am working on a model of seagrass growth. The first stage is up
and running nicely.
At this stage I have individual agents happily replicating, I also have
a Discrete2d which keeps a record of the density at each cell (just a count of
the number of occupied cells in the 3x3 neighbourhood). When a certain density
over an area (say 10x10 cells) is reached I want to collect those agents
together to form a "patch" which then has additional group behaviours as well
as the individual behaviours. The problem I am having is defining a group (and
there may be several seperate ones) and setting its boundaries. I have a few
ideas, but they are all a bit clumsy.
I thought someone may have done a similar thing, or know of something I might
read to get some better ideas.
I live in hope,
Cheers,
Matt
