GNOWSYS

Last two years the GNOWSYS project participated in the GSoC project successfully and the project benifitted due to our participation.

For 2009 we suggest the following ideas taken out from the task list, and we're looking forward to mentoring students who would like to work on any one of them.

• Exporting the knowledge networks in GNOWSYS into other free/open document formats (RSS Feeds, OWL, XTM, LaTeX, DocBook, ODF). (good knowledge of XML and text parsing are prior requirements here.)
• Creating GNOWSYS-mode for GNU Emacs. This might make use of Org-Mode, for example. (requires prior knowledge of working with Emacs-lisp and XMLRPC.)
• Collaborative authoring and organization of knowledge networks with a pyGTK based gnowser, and porting it to Sugar.
• P2P communication between a network of GNOWSYS servers for agregation and broadcasting services.

For all the above projects the candidate should know Python, XMLRPC
and for the third project good understaning of GUI toolkits.
