OT: Question bout Mail Notification

hi this is off topic for this list, but mail notification doesn't have
a list that i saw...

mail notification seems to be functioning, it checks my IMAP account
great, but my work account, a POP account, gives this error in the
hover over message of the icon...

address@hidden: unable to read from server: EOF

But I tried this login and server name in Evolution, works fine, and I
tried a different POP account in mail notification, and that worked
too... Any idea what else I can try?
