SD stutters after updating alsa-utils

Hi,
updated alsa-utils this morning. After restart of my machine, SD stutters 
when using modules with alsa.
Syllables were cut of and the speech hasitates, e.g. it doesn't speak 
fluency anymore.
Changing to oss solves the problem, but the speech isn't that fluency. 
The words come very quicly, and the speech tends to swallow them; but 
it's usable.
What could have caused this? OSS is no permanent solution.
