I don't understand why the instructions on the GNU Social page at say to simply install when the code is clearly not packaged up there.

Also, is it possible that other people besides myself don't have a Git client handy?  Is there a reason this shouldn't be packaged as a zip?

And yes, I think alpha site is already there.
