Follow-up Comment #2:

Are you sure that this still persists with the current developer code base
(!WARNING!: it is in git now, you probably have to refetch it). I had very
similar build system problems when not doing a proper 'autoreconf -i' cycle
after getting the new code with the libbfd changes.
